It's about so much more than double toes and cotton-eyed joes.

One of my teammates celebrated her 16th birthday at clogging class this week. It was neither a belated nor an early party; it was THE milestone day and she chose to spend it dancing with us. It was a privilege to share this special time with Michaela, although she may have regretted her choice once we started singing Happy Birthday! (Yep, most of us should stick to dancing only.)

It's amazing how those who stand beside you in clogging class also stand beside you in life. As special as I think my current and previous teams are, I have observed this to be a pretty universal characteristic in the clogging world. Is it the clogover vine that so intertwines our lives?

I have attended many a clogging wedding and hope to attend many more!

Clogging brides (and bridesmaids) are gorgeous!

Wedding reception at the clogging studio = guaranteed fun party!

Another fun milestone to share is baby's first visit to clogging class!

This explains all the noise I heard when I was in your belly!

Four generations at the team Christmas party!

Can't. Handle. The. Cuteness.

Your clogging family has successes, victories, reasons to celebrate all the time. Enjoy the ride!

Queen of a local festival! Congrats!

Got a role in the high school production of Grease - hurray! We'll do the Greased Lightning dance with you from our seats!

King's highway on Veteran's Day to honor our teammates who served. Thank you!

This Fancy Free Clogger is running for re-election to city council. None of us live where we can vote for Randi, but we were happy to dance at a campaign fundraiser!

Cheering for Kim's other dance team at a local competition! The crowd (us included) LOVED Ignite's performance!

Somebody on your team has a victory to celebrate: A good spelling test score, promotion at work, puppy is finally housebroken, new haircut looks good. Woo-hoo! Now we have even more reason to dance!

In the larger clogging community, we get to share happy moments, too. Success such as All That on America's Got Talent or Dynamic Edition on America's Best Dance Crew was bragged about by cloggers everywhere!

BUT...

Life insists on handing out sorrows as well as joys. I have seen cloggers support each other through divorces, lawsuits, career changes, injury, illness, family difficulties, funerals, and more. We can't take away the stress or pain; we can just help each other through the worst and hope for the best. Sometimes, we get it.

This clogger mom is now cancer-free!

I think I hear the opening strains of We Are Family. Get your clogging shoes on and line up, all of you!

What will YOU do this week to celebrate or support a member of your clogging family?
