October is the perfect time to dust off that classic clogging routine to Credence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising". The song's spooky vibe sets the tone for a Halloween performance! Your team can also have a chuckle at the famous misinterpretation of lyrics: There's a bathroom on the right!
Fancy Free Cloggers learned the routine in August as part of this blog's national dance list/fun dance challenge. "Bad Moon Rising" was choreographed by Steve Smith and is classified as a beginner plus dance.
A thermometer hangs from a post in our clogging studio. I never paid it much mind other than to notice it has a picture of an outhouse. The very day we worked on this routine, it jumped out at me that the thermometer says "Got moon?" at the bottom. A good omen? A bathroom on the right?
We have performed this dance a couple times now, and it will likely be featured more in October.
My next project from the CLOG National Dance List will be "Callin' Baton Rouge," another Steve Smith dance. I love this routine and always try to follow along at the workshop fun dances. Time to learn it!
